Scott Pilgrim VS. The World - Avatar Creator
Do you like to rock? For the Universal Pictures film Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Watson/DG created a buzz-building avatar feature for fans of the film and comic book series. Existing as both a Facebook application and standalone web feature, all illustrations for the Scott Pilgrim Mega Avatar Generator were developed and designed by our in-house team.
Pairing the classic, video game graphics of the movie with the iconic, manga-inspired aesthetic of the graphic novel, users created cartoon representations of themselves and others. The resulting avatars could be downloaded as wallpapers and AIM icons, easily shared across social networks.
The popularity of this feature was overwhelming. Within hours of its launch, tens of thousands had added their personalized avatars to our online gallery. Millions of unique avatars have since been created worldwide: a viral success of epic proportions.
